QC Holdings Companies (QCHI) is in currently seeking a Payroll Administrator which has responsibility for effective execution of the payroll process for a multi-state 900+ employee organization.

PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR - Position Summary
QCHI is seeking a collaborative payroll professional who is looking a company that appreciates what the person in this role brings to the organization and the team.
Reporting To The Payroll Manager, Responsibilities Include
- Handle day to day issues and processing of payroll/tax functions.
- Maintain accurate processing & balancing of payroll/tax payments.
- Function as primary/backup for ancillary payroll responsibilities: (benefit/insurance reconciliation, 401(k) contributions, etc.)
- Assist with year-end process – to include W-2’s , balancing year end totals, etc.
- Serve as point of contact in Payroll Supervisor/Manager’s absence.
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of payroll operating system.
- Interact with Accounting/GL team and Human Resources.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Experience And Education
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree, may be offset with prior work experience.
- 2 years of in-house payroll/payroll tax production experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal skills, oral and written.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work across departmental lines.
- Working knowledge of Payroll federal/state/local/county laws.
- Prior payroll/tax experience in multi-state, multi-company organization.
- Knowledge of payroll system functionality, report writing software and solid MS Office skills are critical. Experience with UKG products – UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management timekeeping systems preferred.
This position is in our Lenexa, Kansas office (Kansas City Metro), and will initially be on site with possibility of hybrid work (3+ days on-site) once settled into the role.
