Residential Construction Project Manager - Custom Homes at AlphaHire
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead luxury custom home construction projects from preconstruction through final delivery in a custom home builder environment. This role requires full ownership of multiple residential projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently achieved. Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple custom home construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts to ensure successful project execution.
- Lead subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and change orders to ensure work is completed accurately.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve field issues, and maintain project momentum.
- Communicate directly with homeowners, architects, designers, and consultants throughout the construction process.
- Coordinate material procurement and subcontractor scheduling to minimize delays.
- Manage project documentation, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and project reporting.
- Identify potential project risks and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure all work meets applicable building codes, company quality standards, and client expectations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience in residential construction, with custom home experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience managing luxury or high-end residential construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, and project sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience working directly with homeowners, architects, designers, and subcontractors.
- Proficiency with construction management software, Microsoft Office, and project scheduling tools.
- Strong budgeting, cost control, and change order management experience.
- Must have direct project ownership experience; coordinator or assistant-level experience alone will not be sufficient.
