POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for interfacing directly with our customers, both on the phone and via email. This individual will email invoices to customers daily, review and process credit memos, and reconcile customer receivable balances. Candidate will process daily cash receipts and apply payments against specific transactions in the AR sub-ledger.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned:

  • Set-up new customers in the Made 2 Management ERP system.
  • Invoice customers and send invoice via email, matching invoice to customer purchase order.
  • Process incoming customer payments, matching invoices.
  • Respond to customer inquiries.
  • Reconcile customer statements and correct discrepancies as necessary.
  • Collect delinquent accounts.
  • Support financial statement audits regarding customer accounts.
  • Assist in month-end financial statement close and balance open item reports.
  • Support other accounting projects, as necessary.
  • Regular and reliable attendance

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive Excel experience as well as efficient organizational skills with electronic files.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and professional approach.

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in accounting
  • Prior collections experience

Level I is entry level, requiring only previous experience.

Level II requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in the Level I role with the Company.

Level III requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Level II role with the Company.

Additional analytical and review responsibilities may be added to each level at the discretion of the AP/AR Operations Supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Sedentary position which requires extensive computer use; mostly professional office environment but occasional visits to plant may be required. BCI plant requires the wearing of safety glasses. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands, fingers, handle, or grasp; reach with hands and arms; speak and listen. Vision abilities required.

Normal hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend hours required. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA.
