SUMMARY
The Baler is responsible for operating baling equipment to compress, secure, and prepare recyclable materials for storage and shipment. The Baler safely handles materials throughout the baling process, including loading, operating equipment, moving finished bales, and maintaining accurate production records. The Baler supports efficient recycling operations while following all safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Trucks or carries materials to baling machine.
- Places materials in compression chamber of baling machine.
- Moves lever or electric switch, causing ram to compress material.
- Threads tie bands around bale and twists or clamps ends of bands to tighten bands.
- Opens compression chamber doors and removes bale from machine.
- Trucks bales to storage place, weighs bales, and records weight.
- Lines compression chamber of baling machine with paper, burlap, or other covering before baling.
- Sews or ties wrapping in place after baling, and stencils bales.
- Other duties as assigned.
