What To Expect

Tesla’s Supplier Industrialization team drives critical component development, high-volume industrialization, and part/process qualification at our suppliers. This Fremont, California–based role primarily supports Tesla’s India casting supply base—helping suppliers launch and ramp production, and designing quality systems that comply with Tesla standards. You’ll work across internal teams and supplier partners, travel to manufacturing sites, and make real-time decisions that keep high-quality parts flowing into Tesla’s production lines—supporting rapid development cycles and product launches.

In this role, you’ll be the quality systems expert and a core Supplier Industrialization Engineer pillar on the team. What You'll Do

  • Plan, organize, and lead industrialization activities across the supply chain, with a focus on quality systems for castings and forgings
  • Identify, develop, manage, audit, and improve supplier manufacturing, assembly, and quality control processes—from prototype and advanced development through mass production qualification
  • Own supplier launch readiness audits to confirm part performance, delivery, and DFM requirements are met
  • Partner with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to guide part design for manufacturability and quality
  • Lead, track, and improve supplier process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes
  • Coach suppliers to build robust processes and procedures that enable efficient, high-quality production at both prototype and high-volume scale
  • Validate supplier corrective actions (design and process) for robustness and sustainability, and drive systemic application across lines and suppliers where similar risks exist

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience / evidence of exceptional ability in manufacturing and quality engineering at a casting Tier 1 / Tier 2 supplier
  • 3+ years supporting quality systems and process development with supplier partners, focused on metal casting and/or aluminum forging
  • Experience developing process quality plans and designing vision systems / auto-gauging for complex machined parts with micron-level tolerances
  • Comfort thriving in a fast-paced environment, with strong collaboration skills across suppliers, peers, and cross-functional teams
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely
  • Working knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and data analysis
  • Ability to travel 30–40% on average, sometimes on short notice
