The Design Technician's role is to produce packaging prototypes for customer design and testing requests. This person partners daily with project teams of project managers, designers, and engineers on multiple requests of varying complexity, ensuring high-quality prototypes are delivered on time. Additionally, this role is responsible for the safety and efficiency of our Design lab operations, including equipment maintenance and general organization. The Design Technician is a self-starter who is positive, innovative, and passionate about customer service and operational excellence.Create prototypes from CAD files, specification drawings, or other instructions, while assuring quality and technical standards are met

Job Responsibilities

Operate CAD cutting tables and other prototyping equipment

Collaborate with project team on project plan, prioritizing tasks, and proactively communicating through the life of the project

Organize project files and other assets appropriately

Maintain Design lab, performing routine maintenance on equipment, storage, inventory, and work area

Preserve proper levels of raw material inventory and prototyping related supplies

Responsible for shipping and receiving procedures

Promote Design safety procedures, in alignment with Veritiv's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies

Assist in other duties as necessary, such as facility support, simple design tasks, basic reports, or testing support
