Position Overview

The DSA Coordinator provides operational leadership and coordination for the Designated Service Area (DSA) served by Trinity Services' Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT).

This position ensures effective day-to-day operations, supports staff and clinical supervisors, monitors program performance, and coordinates communication among internal departments, 988 call centers, first responders, hospitals, and community partners.

The DSA Coordinator promotes high-quality, timely, and person-centered crisis response services while ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.

Salary: $75,000-$77,000

Essential Functions

Below are a list of the primary duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • Coordinates the daily operations of the assigned Designated Service Area (DSA) to support timely, efficient, and high-quality Mobile Crisis Response services.
  • Collaborates with clinical supervisors, program leadership, and support staff to monitor staffing, scheduling, coverage, response times, and operational needs across the assigned DSA.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with 988 call centers, hospitals, law enforcement agencies, emergency medical services, dispatch centers, community providers, and other stakeholders to strengthen crisis response coordination.
  • Monitors program data, quality indicators, contractual deliverables, and performance measures and communicates operational trends and recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensures assigned operations comply with federal, state, Medicaid, accreditation, licensing, contractual, 988, CESSA, and organizational requirements.
  • Assists with staff onboarding, orientation, training coordination, and implementation of operational policies and procedures to support consistent service delivery.
  • Supports program development, grant implementation, community outreach, and service expansion initiatives to improve access to crisis intervention services within the assigned DSA.
  • Represents Trinity Services at community meetings, regional planning groups, provider meetings, and collaborative initiatives related to behavioral health crisis services and the crisis continuum of care.

Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of community behavioral health, crisis intervention services, Mobile Crisis Response, 988, and CESSA, SASS, MRSS
  • Ability to coordinate multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships with hospitals, first responders, dispatch centers, and community organizations.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, behavioral health regulations, licensing standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, electronic health records, and data reporting systems.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and effective decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented services.
  • Responds to emergency situations that may require extended work hours or travel.

Physical Demands

  • Remains in a stationary position, including sitting or standing, for prolonged periods.
  • Operates a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Frequently communicates with employees, community partners, and individuals served in person, by telephone, and through virtual platforms.
  • Travels between Trinity Services locations and community partner sites as needed.
  • Operates a motor vehicle while conducting agency business.
  • Occasionally responds to operational needs at community locations throughout the assigned DSA.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally reaches, bends, stoops, kneels, and climbs while performing job duties.
  • Performs repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with computer use.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. Clinical license preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in behavioral health, crisis services, emergency response, healthcare operations, or a related field required.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or program coordination experience preferred.
  • Experience working with Mobile Crisis Response, crisis systems, 988, emergency services, or community behavioral health preferred.
  • Experience with data reporting, quality improvement, and program operations preferred.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required.
