Social Media Specialist at LMD Agency

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain a comprehensive content bank consisting of:
- Social media posts
- Graphics and infographics
- Photography
- Illustrations
- Videos and animations
- Audio content and podcasts
- Captions
- Blog articles
- Other digital assets supporting our Federal client’s communications objectives
- Establish and maintain a centralized digital content library to support consistent messaging and efficient content reuse across social and digital media channels.
- Collaborate with our Federal client’s Divisions, program offices, and subject matter experts to identify, develop, coordinate, and publish content that advances agency priorities and public awareness initiatives.
- Create engaging multimedia content utilizing photography, videography, graphics, animation, and audio to communicate complex cybersecurity and infrastructure security topics in clear, accessible language.
- Write, edit, and publish social media content tailored to diverse audiences while maintaining consistency with our Federal client’s branding, messaging, and communications standards.
- Develop and maintain editorial calendars and publishing schedules that align with agency campaigns, observances, initiatives, and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate with communications, web, design, and video production teams to support integrated digital communication campaigns.
- Provide updates, edits, and corrections to our Federal client’s web content through approved web publishing workflows and content management processes.
- Monitor social media conversations, audience engagement, and emerging trends to identify opportunities for proactive communications and audience interaction.
- Collect, analyze, and report social media performance metrics, including audience growth, engagement, impressions, reach, click-through rates, and campaign effectiveness.
- Develop dashboards, recurring reports, and recommendations to optimize social media strategies and improve digital engagement.
- Schedule, publish, and manage content across agency social media platforms using approved social media management tools.
- Ensure all digital content complies with agency branding standards, plain language principles, accessibility requirements, and Section 508 compliance.
- Stay informed on evolving social media platforms, digital communications trends, and federal communications best practices to recommend innovative approaches and emerging technologies.
- Support crisis communications and rapid-response messaging during incidents, special events, and national awareness campaigns as required.
Qualifications
- Currently holds, or is able to obtain, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Fitness Determination.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience managing and creating content for social media platforms.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing social media strategies that increase audience engagement, awareness, and digital reach.
- Experience writing and editing content for multiple social media platforms, including adapting messaging for platform-specific audiences.
- Demonstrated experience creating multimedia content, including:
- Videos
- Graphics
- Infographics
- Photography
- Motion graphics or animations
- Audio or podcast content
- Experience maintaining editorial calendars, content libraries, and publishing schedules.
- Experience monitoring engagement metrics and using analytics to evaluate campaign performance and inform content strategy.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into engaging, audience-friendly content.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media management platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or equivalent).
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications or similar multimedia production software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Canva.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Experience supporting federal agencies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, emergency management, or homeland security communications.
- Experience managing government or large organizational social media accounts.
- Knowledge of federal digital communications policies, web governance, and accessibility requirements, including Section 508 compliance.
- Experience using web content management systems (CMS) and supporting web publishing workflows.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics and reporting tools.
- Experience supporting integrated communications campaigns, public awareness initiatives, and crisis communications.
- Knowledge of SEO, digital marketing best practices, and audience segmentation strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
JOB LOCATION
- This is a remote position on an EST workday. Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm EST.

This position is part of a proposal effort and is contingent upon LMD Agency being awarded the associated contract and receiving funding and/or government authorization to begin work. Candidates may be interviewed and selected in advance to support a timely project launch; however, employment cannot begin unless and until the contract is awarded and all pre-employment requirements are successfully completed.
