2 Hour Learning is constructing a nationwide portfolio of schools engineered to deliver a full day's worth of learning in two concentrated hours through AI. This model requires expansion to be executed with the same rigor as the academic product. Your role is to deliver that execution. You will control the complete lifecycle of new campus development—from initial site assessment to operational readiness—while simultaneously creating the frameworks that make every opening more efficient, streamlined, and reliable than the last.

This position is not a conventional development management role. You are not brought on simply to oversee projects. You are here to remove barriers to growth. This means rendering final judgments on site suitability, engaging directly with permitting and construction challenges, conducting vendor negotiations, and maintaining momentum on timelines with urgency. Concurrently, you will decompose each phase of this process into systematic, AI-enhanced workflows that decrease manual intervention and increase forecasting precision iteratively.

What You Will Be Doing

• Render critical site decisions by assessing zoning, permitting, budget, and schedule feasibility through structured, AI-supported evaluation
• Oversee multiple concurrent school construction projects, directing construction managers, clearing obstacles, and delivering on-schedule, on-budget launches
• Produce clear, stakeholder-ready capital project proposals that align scope, budget, and execution approach
• Direct vendor selection processes, RFPs, and contract negotiations with emphasis on velocity, quality, and cost discipline
• Break down expansion workflows into discrete work units and implement AI-powered systems that reduce timelines and enhance predictability

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Functioning as a passive status tracker who waits for updates from contractors or external partners
• Focusing exclusively on a single phase (e.g., site selection alone or construction alone) without accountability for the complete result
• Depending on manual, improvised approaches that restart with each new location
• Raising issues to others without directly engaging to resolve permitting, design, or construction roadblocks
• Investing months in stakeholder alignment without moving toward a definitive decision

VP Of Capital Projects Key Responsibilities

Control the complete expansion of new school sites by delivering fully operational campuses on reliable schedules while systematically decreasing time, cost, and risk through AI-enabled processes.

Basic Requirements

• Proven experience leading at least one real estate development or construction project from site selection through opening with full ownership
• Experience managing multiple concurrent builds or capital projects with direct responsibility for timelines, coordination, and issue resolution
• Strong fluency in zoning, permitting, construction, and vendor coordination, with the ability to engage directly with GCs, architects, and regulators
• Demonstrated ability to make tradeoff decisions across cost, timeline, and feasibility with clear, measurable outcomes
• Experience improving or structuring complex operational workflows (e.g., permitting, design coordination, construction execution)
• Demonstrated ability to break complex workflows into structured, repeatable systems and improve them over time
• Evidence of using tools (AI or otherwise) to reduce manual work, accelerate decision-making, or improve execution speed
• High ownership mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity and drive real-world outcomes
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% to active school sites across the US and be on-site during critical phases of development and opening
• Currently located in the US and eligible to work without visa sponsorship

Track record of improving forecast accuracy and reducing delivery timelines across projects

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
