HR Generalist at RCS
Position Summary
The HR Generalist supports the full range of human resources functions across RCS, LLC. This role plays a key part in talent acquisition, employee records management, benefits administration, and compliance, ensuring HR practices align with company policy and applicable federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet with confidential information, and comfortable supporting a diverse, multi-site workforce.

Key Responsibilities
- Support full-cycle recruiting, including posting positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with hiring managers.
- Process new hire onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, drug screening, and orientation paperwork.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data (Paylocity).
- Support and help implement Paylocity system integrations, updates, and process improvements in coordination with HR leadership and IT.
- Administer employee benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries in coordination with benefits providers.
- Assist with payroll-related HR data, including time and labor reporting, leave tracking, and status changes.
- Respond to employee relations questions and escalate issues to HR leadership as appropriate.
- Support compliance efforts related to OSHA, ISNetworld, TWIC, and workforce credentialing requirements.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation for leadership as requested.
- Assist with policy administration, employee handbook updates, and HR-related communications.
- Maintain compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other applicable employment laws.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate/bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally within marine, shipyard, industrial, or energy services environments.
- Working knowledge of employment law, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO regulations.
- Proficiency with HRIS/payroll platforms (Paylocity experience strongly preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or related HR certification.
- Experience supporting a multi-site or field-based workforce.
- Familiarity with workforce compliance requirements.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position is based in RCS, LLC's Lafayette, Louisiana office, with 25% travel to recruitment events/job site locations as needed. Primarily an office environment with standard use of computer, phone, and office equipment. Occasional site visits may require adherence to applicable safety protocols, including PPE use.
