Student Learning Coach, Alpha - $120,000/year USD at Crossover

Date: 5 hours ago
City: Davie, FL
Salary: $60 per hour
Contract type: Full time
  • $120,000/year W2 compensation, distributed weekly, with medical, dental, and vision coverage effective immediately
  • On-site position at an Alpha campus located in Bethesda, MD; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Greenwich, CT; Malibu, CA; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Palm Beach, FL; San Francisco, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA (relocation assistance available).

Traditional schools set expectations for students. Your role is to guide them beyond what they think possible.

Every student possesses untapped potential they haven't yet recognized. When faced with difficulty, most educators reduce demands. Your approach is the reverse. You understand that genuine confidence doesn't emerge from empty encouragement—it develops when someone achieves what they previously believed they couldn't. If you've ever insisted that a student, athlete, participant, or mentee push past their perceived limits, this work will resonate with you.

Alpha has redesigned education around a core principle: AI excels at academic delivery, while exceptional people transform lives. Core academics are completed through adaptive, AI-driven learning platforms. Your focus is cultivating what technology cannot replicate—discipline, grit, communication skills, personal accountability, concentration, and the conviction that challenging pursuits have inherent value. Your days won't involve lesson delivery or assignment grading. Instead, you'll guide students through obstacles, recognize meaningful advancement, and support them in reaching objectives they once considered unattainable.

Approximately 60% of your time involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour life skills sessions addressing topics such as public speaking, concentration, leadership, and constructive feedback exchange. Around 30% is dedicated to individual or small-group coaching, leveraging Coachbot analytics to determine which students require motivation, accountability adjustments, or alternative strategies. The final 10% encompasses data review, coaching method refinement, and preparation to strengthen student outcomes in the coming week. You'll begin with established workshop structures, then enhance and expand them as you identify more effective engagement approaches.

Performance metrics are clearly defined. A minimum of 90% of your students must reliably achieve weekly academic targets, demonstrate proficiency in Alpha's life skills via Test2Pass evaluations, and provide experience ratings of at least 4 out of 5. Maintain this standard consistently and you'll access a defined progression to Lead Guide, where you mentor other Guides, and ultimately Campus Lead, overseeing an entire school's culture and results.

This position isn't suited for those seeking to lecture, execute prescribed curricula, or simply occupy student time. It's designed for coaches, mentors, youth program leaders, facilitators, tutors, and educators who define success through student transformation. Every final-stage candidate completes a full-day coaching session with actual Alpha students prior to offer extension. If that prospect excites you more than standard interviews, we're eager to connect.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating energetic, one-hour life skills sessions for K-8 students, building communication abilities, resilience, concentration, leadership capacity, and other enduring competencies while iteratively enhancing workshop quality.
  • Providing individualized and small-group coaching guided by Coachbot analytics, customized accountability frameworks, and Alpha's motivational systems to ensure every student reaches challenging weekly objectives.
  • Evaluating life skill proficiency through Test2Pass and delivering focused coaching until each student exhibits authentic mastery beyond mere participation.
  • Adjusting your coaching approach between elementary and middle school age groups, recognizing when younger students need kinesthetic engagement and encouragement versus when older students require direct accountability.
  • Reviewing weekly student performance metrics to detect trends, eliminate barriers, and systematically enhance outcomes across your entire student group.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Conducting traditional classroom lessons. AI manages academic instruction, freeing you to concentrate on student development.
  • Evaluating assignments, developing curricula, or preparing students for standardized assessments.
  • Supervising students as they work quietly on devices. Each day is dynamic, engaging, and coaching-focused.
  • Seeking permission before addressing a student's challenges. You possess the authority to respond immediately and take necessary action.
  • Handling parent correspondence or administrative documentation. Campus Leads manage family relationships, allowing your full attention on students.
