## Essential Functions

  • Under direction, serves as the Employee Screening Administrator for

the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), organizing,

planning, implementing, and evaluating DoITs background screening

and security identification badging operations, including monitoring

and verifying compliance with state, federal, and contractual

requirements.

  • Implements procedures and verifies appropriate background checks are

completed based on position responsibilities and maintains accurate

recordkeeping and audit readiness, including retrieving, reviewing,

and interpreting background results using CHIRP and other similar

background-result retrieval databases.

  • Performs the full range of highly responsible and confidential

duties relating to all security identification badge and background

screening functions, including administering badge operations using

the Velocity System or comparable access control platform.

  • Collaborates with management on the integration of program function

activities to resolve administrative problems and identify

opportunities for process and program improvements, including

participating as a member of DoITs Background Nexus Review

Committee, contributing to review, analysis, and decision-making

processes.

  • Serves as liaison with internal partners and external agencies to

coordinate activities related to background screening, workflow

development, and access compliance, including collaborating with

DoIT People Operations and client agency liaisons to coordinate,

facilitate, and verify appropriate completion of required background

checks for staff, interns, vendors, and contractors.

  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the background check field by

continuing education through online training platforms, attending

meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase

familiarity with and maintain current on products, vendors,

techniques and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably

within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

## Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to

four (4) years of college, preferably with coursework in business or

public administration.

  • Requires one (1) year of responsible administrative experience in a

public or business organization.
