Traditional elementary schools reduce expectations when children fall behind. You do the opposite. You know that a six-year-old can accomplish significantly more than a conventional classroom demands, and you have used measurable outcomes to demonstrate this repeatedly.

Alpha operates on a two-hour learning framework. In the morning, adaptive applications handle academic content, which frees your time for the activities that truly transform a child's trajectory: coaching, accountability, life skills development, and motivation. You directly oversee a cohort of K-3 students while simultaneously coaching the Guides—Alpha's name for the adults who mentor and inspire the children—who are responsible for their day-to-day growth. You remain actively involved each day rather than managing remotely from an administrative office.

Your typical day alternates among three core activities. You analyze performance metrics and Coachbot analytics to identify students and Guides who need support. You conduct coaching sessions that conclude with concrete action steps rather than general advice. And you facilitate workshops on topics like public speaking, concentration, or feedback delivery for groups of five- to nine-year-olds.

When you identify effective methods, you document them. The frameworks you create become the operating standard for all other Guides, expanding your influence from a single cohort to an entire grade level. Demonstrating your ability to scale that level of quality is the path to greater leadership responsibility within Alpha.

What You Will Be Doing

• Using classroom observation, performance metrics, and direct feedback to coach both Guides and students, then maintaining accountability to quantifiable targets
• Leading one-hour live workshops for K-3 students covering life skills including public speaking, concentration, teamwork, resilience, accountability, and feedback exchange
• Conducting one-on-one and small-group sessions that align each child's personal interests and aspirations with tangible academic advancement
• Developing and refining operational playbooks that convert your most effective practices into scalable systems other Guides can implement reliably
• Providing training to Guides on these playbooks and demonstrating exemplary facilitation so quality standards are maintained as the team expands

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Teaching academic lessons or presenting material from the front of the classroom; adaptive applications handle content delivery while you focus on coaching people
• Reducing standards when a student encounters difficulty
• Managing from afar in the manner of traditional instructional coaches or school principals; you remain integrated with your cohort every day
• Managing campus-wide budgets, operations, or parent communications; a Campus Lead handles those responsibilities so you can concentrate on student and Guide performance
• Advocating for traditional teaching practices or adhering to a standard K-12 curriculum

Leadership Coach Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements

• Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Austin, TX or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ; relocation assistance is provided
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, Child Development, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with elementary-aged children (approximately ages 5 to 9)
• Prior experience leading a team of 5 or more individuals, with decision-making authority over hiring and performance-based dismissals
• Track record of building, launching, or substantially expanding a program, team, school, or initiative from inception, rather than taking over an established operation
• Comfortable operating in an educational environment that rejects conventional teaching approaches
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant discipline
• Demonstrated success using data, dashboards, or analytics to identify challenges and achieve measurable progress
• Background coaching or managing other adults to reach quantifiable outcomes, rather than solely performing tasks independently
• Experience in youth development, camp leadership, competitive coaching, tutoring, or enrichment programs where motivation played a central role
• Proven ability and confidence facilitating sessions or speaking publicly to groups of young children

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
