Payroll Specialist at CFS
Location: Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $55,000 – $70,000 DOE
A well-established hospice and home healthcare organization serving the Bakersfield community is seeking a Payroll Specialist to play a key role in supporting a growing workforce dedicated to patient care. The Opportunity
This position exists to ensure timely, accurate payroll processing for a workforce that includes clinical, administrative, and support staff. The Payroll Specialist will take ownership of payroll operations, work closely with HR and accounting, and help maintain compliance with wage and hour regulations. What You'll Do
- Process biweekly payroll for employees across multiple departments and locations
- Review timesheets, payroll reports, deductions, and earnings for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure updates are entered correctly into payroll systems
- Coordinate with HR and management regarding new hires, terminations, leave balances, and payroll changes
- Analyze payroll discrepancies and resolve issues while supporting audits and reporting requirements
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in healthcare, hospice, or a multi-site environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, and payroll best practices
- Experience with payroll software systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage confidential information with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail
