New Grad Quality Engineer - 1472 at SP Associates
Manage and coordinate with designated personnel to ensure that the plant quality control systems are fully implemented to the dedicated standard. Provide leadership and technical guidance in these areas to ensure that key performance indicators, quality standards, and safety goals are met as needed. Develop Supplier Scorecard systems, corrective action tracking, and internal audits. Provide technical support to the customer base as needed for commercial development and business continuity. Provide leadership on Six Sigma, Lean, and other continual improvement method projects.
Position Functions
• Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions, - response, effectiveness, audits, etc.
• Manage Scorecard Reports of Delivered performance to selected customers. Maintain Cost of Quality Tracking
• Manage Assurance of all operational procedures; assurance includes audits, records, document control, quality measurement, performance measurement, and other specifics.
• Manage Product Launch, and program management for new product development.
• Overall ISO implementation and assurance – including MSA, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA
• Provide technical leadership to ensure that the on-going process of continuous quality improvement is maintained.
• Ensure the application of an effective program in the area of safety, training, two-way communication, employee health and welfare, housekeeping, and proper job performance.
• Recommendations to the management team on requirements for projects concerning improvements in the quality system, or its products & processes.
• Coordinate with the Personnel Department to ensure that qualified employees are maintained for efficient department operation.
• Calibration and mistake-proofing controls. Process Control – Database, Records, and Improvement.
• Customer Technical Service – report and discuss customer relations quality requirements and indicate improvement areas.
• Provide and interpret for management, accurate and timely reports on Quality Based operations of the plant
• Coordinate material samples, testing, and data analysis – maintain all laboratory functions and equipment
Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred), a related technical field, or equivalent.
• Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
• Experience utilizing Quality Engineering methods and Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Quality orientation, high attention to detail and superior organizational skills
• Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification desired
• Nonwovens experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to operate testing equipment and performing lab testing.
• Intermediate computer and math skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work on a team as well as independently.
• Ability to work in a hot/cold manufacturing environment, which can include standing and/or sitting for the duration of the task.
• Ability to transport or move up to 50lbs. of material.
• Ability to understand and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and/or other employees.
• Ability to work schedule as determined by production needs.
