About the Job
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. The position is within our Corporate Division, reporting directly to the VP, Quilt Assistant Controller. We need an ambitious finance leader with experience in a high-tech fast-paced environment who enjoys simplifying complex issues and processes. You will have the freedom to create and grow professionally and make an immediate impact.
The Accounting Manager will provide a broad spectrum of accounting support for a fast-growing, global SaaS technology company, including billing, revenue recognition, cash management, general accounting, payroll, sales taxes, and monthly closing/reporting activities. The role offers a multi-faceted experience with full visibility of the organization and broad exposure across the accounting function, along with opportunities for cross-functional collaboration and exposure to senior leadership across the entire Quilt business. As part of a lean team, this role will have meaningful ownership, work closely with experienced accounting leaders, and contribute to the development of scalable accounting processes as Quilt continues to grow. The ideal candidate is a naturally curious, ambitious self-starter who enjoys solving accounting challenges and is highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced organization.
Responsibilities
- Overall ERP Management of Netsuite and all financial systems
- Preparing and consolidating Corporate and Divisional Financial Statements
- Own key portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, and ensuring an accurate and timely close
- Coordinate with external auditors (Grant Thornton)
- Contribute to acquisition accounting, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integrations from add-on acquisitions
- Help strengthen internal controls and build accounting processes that scale with the org.
- Monthly revenue recognition processes in accordance with Revenue recognition (ASC606) and oversight of AR and Deferred Revenue accounts.
- Treasury duties including daily cash management, forecasting, payables
- Intercompany and related party transactions
- Leases and Rent- Deferred Rent and lease commitments (ASC842)
- Inventory and hardware accounting, including costing, valuation, and reconciliation and hardware accounting, including costing, valuation, and reconciliation
- Professional fees, compensation, and other accruals
- Advise on payment processing across multiple platforms including third party payment processors
- Prepare monthly financial statement fluctuation analysis for review
- Support the financial planning and analytics group with Budgeting and Forecasting
- Respond to customer, partner and internal business requests for detail information and other analyses, working across functions to research inquiries
- Assist with special projects assigned as requested by internal and external parties
- Recommend and build process improvements and automation initiatives, including ERP enhancements and AI-enabled workflows
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and leadership.
Requirements
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Approximately 2-4 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a national accounting firm
- CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in software industry, ideally software as a service (SaaS) experience and understanding of related finance and accounting issues preferred
- Exposure to SEC reporting or public company audits preferred
- Interest in AI capabilities preferred

Compensation: $95k - $125k Base + Bonus
Location: Hybrid, based in NYC, 1x-2x per week in the Office
