Your impact
JACOBS has an immediately opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to support our data center project in Saint Francisville, LA.
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of engineering and construction projects. This role ensures projects are delivered within budget while maximizing profitability and maintaining compliance with contract requirements. The Quantity Surveyor works closely with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to manage costs, evaluate risks, and support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and project forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure costs remain within approved budgets.
- Analyze project performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Track and report cost variances throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract Administration
- Review, interpret, and administer contracts, subcontracts, and purchase agreements.
- Prepare and manage change orders, claims, and contract variations.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met by all project stakeholders.
- Support contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Measurement and Valuation
- Perform quantity takeoffs from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Measure and value completed work for progress payments.
- Validate subcontractor and supplier invoices against contractual requirements.
- Prepare applications for payment and final account settlements.
Project Controls and Reporting
- Develop and maintain project cost reports and commercial dashboards.
- Provide regular financial updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Assist with risk assessments and forecasting activities.
- Support project audits and compliance reviews.
Procurement Support
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages and tender documentation.
- Evaluate contractor and supplier bids for commercial suitability.
- Support procurement activities to achieve value and quality objectives.
- Maintain records of procurement and subcontract agreements.
Risk Management
- Identify commercial, financial, and contractual risks.
- Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce project exposure.
- Assist in dispute resolution and claims management when required.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of quantity surveying, construction cost management, or commercial project experience.
- Knowledge of engineering, construction, infrastructure, industrial, or manufacturing projects.
- Experience reviewing contracts, change orders, and project financials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project cost management software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The base salary range for this position is $95,200.00 to $130,900.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
