Clinical Operations Contractor at Altro Health

Date: 2 hours ago
City: New York, NY
Contract type: Full time
Remote

Altro powers the next generation of wellness businesses with clinical infrastructure built for growth.

We're building a platform that enables wellness businesses to offer clinical services they currently can't provide on their own, including blood testing, prescriptions, and peptides, supervised by a clinical team. Think Shopify for wellness businesses.

The team behind Altro has done this before: Harvard Business School MBAs and a second-time founder, alongside operators and executives who've taken startups through exits as founding-team members. We're backed by top venture capital firms.

The tailwinds are massive: Peptides going mainstream, GLP-1s unlocking the category, the longevity movement in full swing, and AI unlocking what wasn't possible a year ago.

We're still early. Which means every hire matters. Join at the ground floor, work directly with the founders, and be part of something rare: a company at the intersection of a massive market shift and the moment when AI is reshaping what small teams can build.

What you'll do

You'll work alongside our COO to keep clinical ops humming. You won't own the function — you'll be the extra set of eyes and hands that makes sure nothing slips.

Specifically

1. Help oversee the daily order queue — flag at-risk orders early and escalate before they delay.

2. Triage inbound patient messages and respond in a warm, clinically-sound voice.

3. Liaise with clinical and fulfillment partners (labs, pharmacies) to keep orders moving.

4. Refine patient-facing scripts, instructions, and education materials.

Requirements

Who we're looking for

- Clinically fluent. MA, LVN/LPN, RN, or clinical coordinator background. You've reviewed scripts, handled patient comms, and know when to escalate.

- 4+ years of experience as RN/MA. Of that, 2+ years of experience in digital health and async pt communication.

- Excellent written and spoken English. You'll be communicating directly with US-based patients and partners — your tone and clarity matter.

- Reliable in morning ET hours. This is non-negotiable — please don't apply if you can't work mornings New York time on weekdays.

- Comfortable with startup chaos. Tools change, processes are half-built, and you're fine with that. Bonus if you've worked at a concierge clinic, telehealth company, or DTC health startup.

- Detail-oriented. You catch issues early and document as you go.

Compliance requirements

- Must be based and work from the United States

- Willing to sign a BAA and complete a background check before starting

- Prior HIPAA training, or willing to complete it before starting

- All patient communication stays in company systems

Nice to have

- Professional Spanish (speaking and writing)

- Experience with EHRs, telehealth platforms, or pharmacy/lab portals

- Background in functional/longevity medicine, peptides, or hormone optimization

- Customer service experience at a high-touch consumer brand

- Weekend availability

Benefits

$25 - $40/ hour: Hourly rate, based on experience

Hours: Approximately 35 hours/week flexible scheduling with morning (EST) availability needed.
