Lead Machine Operator at Currier Plastics

We are seeking a Lead Machine Operator to support our supervisors in ensuring that production jobs are properly staffed with trained personnel. You will perform a variety of production activities to ensure that production schedules and quality requirements are met while maximizing efficient up-time operation.

Essential Job Functions
- Assigns Machine Operators to machines and jobs based on past performance, capability, experience, and job difficulty
- Staff's jobs to meet production schedules and quality requirements
- Assists in training Machine Operators in following departmental procedures and job requirements
- Ensures workstations are adequately supplied with materials, tools, documentation, samples, labels, etc.
- Instructs and monitors Machine Operators’ safety and housekeeping practices
- Ensures production personnel maintain accurate inventories and reject counts
- Checks and verifies labels match job pack
- Alerts Supervisor or Maintenance personnel concerning equipment and/or machine problems
- Other duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the department
Requirements
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent and minimum 1 year of work experience in a Lead-level role
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limitations of procedures and practices
- Leadership abilities
- Requires standing, repeated reaching and twisting, hand movement throughout entire shift
- Requires lifting and moving materials of up to 25 lbs
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision
- Works in an environment that may be uncomfortable, dusty and loud. Is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
