Facility Condition Inspector at Virginia's Community College System

This position conducts facility assessments for the community colleges for new and existing buildings to include identification and analysis of life cycle and facility condition assessments to determine the condition in accordance with the Facility Inventory Conditioning Assessment System (

FICAS

) and to determine the condition updates to determine the Facility Condition Index (

FCI

) through facility inspections by developing deficiency needs and associated cost estimates and in support of state requirements.

Conducts building condition assessments for all 23 community colleges, campuses and other property owned by the

VCCS.

• Performs physical inspections of all building systems to include architectural systems such as structural systems, roofing systems, building envelopes, interior finishes, mechanical and electrical systems, flooring, and building materials to determine material type and quantity used, condition, life-cycle, repair/replacement required and/or deferred maintenance.
• Conduct facility condition assessments as assigned by the system office in a timely manner.
• Complete assessments in database and submit for review within 5 weeks following site visit.
