Role Overview

The Retail Sales Associate helps customers discover home furnishing products and styles that match their needs, preferences, and lifestyle. The role focuses on customer engagement and sales while also supporting sales transactions, financing, cash reconciliation, inventory control, loss prevention, and daily store operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by engaging guests in a welcoming, professional, cordial, and respectful manner.

• Maintain a visible and professional presence at the front desk and represent established brand standards during customer interactions.

• Guide customers through home furnishings, styles, and room solutions based on their preferences and requirements.

• Create enthusiasm around products by presenting relevant information, ideas, and furnishing solutions.

• Process sales orders accurately and efficiently while following established cash-handling protocols.

• Assist customers with credit applications and financing matters as required.

• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of sales transactions.

• Address customer concerns independently whenever possible and support effective issue resolution.

• Assist with store opening and closing activities, including cash reconciliation and completion of daily checklists.

• Support inventory management and loss-prevention procedures, including participation in biannual inventory checks.

• Meet and exceed sales goals while aligning performance with established KPIs and performance standards.

• Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation where applicable.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• One year of customer service and/or sales experience preferred.

• Outgoing, friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with customers.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and encourage customer action.

• Ability to communicate in a positive and motivating manner.

• Ability to develop and share fresh ideas that support customer engagement.

• Customer-focused approach with a commitment to exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

• Reliable attendance and ability to meet scheduled work commitments.

This customer-facing position combines home furnishings sales with consultative customer engagement and retail operations. The Retail Sales Associate supports customers throughout their shopping experience while contributing to sales performance, financing assistance, transaction accuracy, inventory activities, loss prevention, and store opening and closing procedures.
