Designer, Derek Lam - 10 Crosby at NYC Alliance Company LLC

NYC Alliance Company LLC is seeking an experienced and creative Designer to support the Derek Lam 10 Crosby brand. This role will contribute to the design and development of seasonal collection, translating brand direction, market trends, and customer insights into compelling, commercially viable product. The Designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are developed effectively and maintain the brand’s aesthetic and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of seasonal design concepts and collections in alignment with the brand aesthetic and business objectives.

• Research current fashion trends, color, fabric, market, and consumer insights to inspire relevant and trend-right designs.
• Create original design concepts, sketches, CADs, and technical sketches for apparel collections.
• Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional partners to develop products from initial concept through production.
• Work closely with product development, technical design, production, and sourcing teams to ensure designs meet creative and commercial objectives.
• Prepare and maintain accurate tech packs, sketches, specifications, and other design documentation.
• Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and revisions to ensure proper execution of design intent, fit, construction, and overall quality.
• Review prototypes and production samples and communicate design changes and comments clearly and effectively.
• Help ensure consistency of brand identity, quality, and aesthetic across assigned product categories.
• Manage assigned design projects and deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with vendors and factories as needed throughout the product development process.
• Contribute to presentations, seasonal line reviews, and internal design meetings.
• Stay informed on competitive brands, emerging trends, customer preferences, and industry developments.
• Work collaboratively within the design team and contribute creative ideas to support the overall growth of the brand.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of apparel design experience, preferably with women’s branded products.
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, color, fabric, garment construction, fit, and apparel manufacturing process.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other relevant design software.
• Ability to create original design concepts, technical sketches, CADs, and design presentations.
• Experience developing products from initial concept through sample review and production.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand aesthetic and design standards.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with merchandising, product development, technical design, production, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong creative and commercial awareness with an understanding of customer needs and market trends.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and solutions-oriented with a passion for fashion and product development.

• The offered salary for this position will vary based on role requirements determined by NYC Alliance, skill set and years of experience.
