Senior FP&A & Strategic Finance Analyst at Emerald Design Works
Help build the financial engine behind a growing company.
Emerald Design Works is looking for a hands-on Senior FP&A & Strategic Finance Analyst to partner directly with the CFO and leadership team as we scale.
This is not a role where you simply report on what happened last month. You’ll help us understand what happens next and what we should do about it.
The Questions You’ll Help Answer
- When should we hire the next person?
- How much cash will we need as we grow?
- What does our pipeline mean for future revenue, staffing, and profitability?
- Which projects, clients, and teams are generating the strongest returns?
- How do changes in collections, vendor terms, or project timing impact liquidity?
- What investments can we make today without getting ahead of ourselves?
What You’ll Own
- Short- and long-term cash flow forecasting, including a rolling 13-week cash forecast
- Annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario modeling
- Headcount, capacity, utilization, and hiring models
- Project, client, employee, and business-unit profitability analysis
- Pipeline, bookings, backlog, revenue, margin, and cash-flow modeling
- Executive dashboards and financial reporting
- Long-range growth and strategic financial planning
- Analysis that turns financial and operating data into clear recommendations
- Finance process improvements across systems including Studio Designer, Ramp, HubSpot, and related tools
Because we’re a growing company, you’ll also be comfortable rolling up your sleeves when needed to support invoicing, collections, reconciliations, month-end activities, and other finance priorities.
What We’re Looking For
- You’re analytical, curious, resourceful, and comfortable building something from the ground up. You don’t need perfect data or a finished playbook before getting started.
- Approximately 5–8 years of FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, or related experience
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with cash flow and working-capital modeling
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals
- Experience analyzing profitability, utilization, capacity, or other operating drivers
- The ability to turn analysis into recommendations leadership can act on
- Experience in a project-based, professional services, construction, design, architecture, engineering, or similar environment is a plus
Why Emerald
We’re building a national commercial interiors company around one idea: exceptional design deserves exceptional delivery.
You’ll join us at a stage where you can have a meaningful impact on how the company grows, how decisions are made, and how the finance function is built.
This is currently a senior individual-contributor role with direct exposure to the CFO and executive leadership team, with significant opportunity to grow as the company scales.
The anticipated level is Senior Analyst, but we’re more interested in finding the right person than fitting someone into a rigid title. Final title and level may vary based on experience and capabilities.
