We are currently recruiting for a 1st Shift Flexo Press Assistant to join our team! The 1st Shift Flexo Press Assistant is responsible for helping the Press Operators by performing tasks related to setup, maintenance, and cleanup of printing presses throughout the site. This position offers onsite training and the opportunity to learn a valuable skilled trade in the printing industry. Employees will have unlimited growth potential and the chance to continuously advance your career. Previous printing experience in a manufacturing setting is a huge plus. This position reports to the Pressroom Manager.
Pay Rate: $18.00-$22.00/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00AM-2:30PM, with occasional overtime
Responsibilities
- Assists in performing preventive maintenance on presses such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning, and minor adjustments to rollers and other small moving parts
- Assists in the setup and cleanup of presses as required by the schedule
- Adheres to the Safety Data Sheets (SDS's) and sees to proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals, as necessary
- Assists on other pressroom equipment/presses if needed and when workload permits
- Provides input/ideas for continuous productivity, quality, and scrap improvement
- Effectively and promptly communicates with supervisors and peers
- Cleans and keeps immediate work area neat and orderly; maintains housekeeping standards
- Works safely and efficiently
- Performs other duties (including learning how to be a press assistant) as requested

Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience as a Press Assistant in the printing industry is a plus
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
