What You'll Do

The Parts Finishing Laborer supports daily production by preparing, cleaning, and finishing manufactured or machined parts to meet quality and appearance standards before shipment or assembly. This is an entry-level position — no prior manufacturing experience required. On-the-job training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming parts for defects, burrs, or surface imperfections
• Clean parts using solvents, degreasers, or wash equipment per safety protocols
• Apply coatings, labels, or protective wrapping as directed
• Sort, count, and stage finished parts for packaging or the next production step
• Operate basic shop equipment (bench grinders, sanders, wash stations) under supervision
• Follow standard work instructions and quality checklists
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Report equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to the supervisor
• Accurately complete production logs, tags, or count sheets
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not always required
• No prior experience necessary; willingness to learn is essential
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs. regularly
• Basic math skills (counting, measuring) and attention to detail
• Comfortable working around machinery, solvents, and shop equipment
• Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts, including overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

• Standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift
• Repetitive hand and arm motion
• Exposure to noise, dust, and mild chemical odors (PPE provided)
• Work performed in a manufacturing/shop environment (not climate-controlled in all areas)

Work Environment

You'll work in a plating and paint shop environment with exposure to industrial chemicals, coatings, solvents, and finishing equipment. Appropriate PPE is required, and all work is performed in accordance with company safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
