Position Overview

The Director of Labor Management is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide labor strategies that optimize workforce productivity, control labor costs, and support operational excellence across the resort and casino. This role partners closely with Operations, Finance, People, and Executive Leadership to ensure labor resources are aligned with business demand while maintaining exceptional guest service standards.

The Director will lead labor planning, forecasting, reporting, productivity analysis, workforce optimization initiatives, and labor compliance efforts across all business units, including Gaming, Hotel Operations, Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Retail, and Back-of-House operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise labor management strategies that balance operational effectiveness, guest experience, and financial performance
  • Oversee labor forecasting, scheduling optimization, productivity analysis, and workforce planning across all resort departments
  • Partner with operational leaders to establish department labor standards, staffing models, and productivity benchmarks
  • Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual labor performance metrics and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
  • Develop executive-level labor dashboards and reporting to communicate key workforce trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Analyze labor utilization, overtime, premium pay, turnover, absenteeism, and scheduling effectiveness to drive informed business decisions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and labor expense management initiatives
  • Identify, recommend, and implement labor optimization solutions and technology enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, wage and hour regulations, employment laws, and company policies
  • Support operational leaders in labor planning for seasonal fluctuations, special events, conventions, entertainment activations, and business growth initiatives
  • Lead workforce-related analytical projects and provide actionable recommendations to executive leadership
  • Develop and maintain labor governance processes, reporting standards, and accountability measures across the organization
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for labor analytics, workforce planning, and productivity management
  • Lead the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of UKG Workforce Management (WFM) Advanced Scheduling to improve scheduling effectiveness, labor utilization, productivity, compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five (5) years in FP&A, labor management, business transformation, or operational strategy, with a strong focus on labor efficiency
  • Experience within a large-scale hospitality, gaming, resort, or entertainment environment preferred
  • Direct experience implementing, configuring, optimizing, or managing UKG Workforce Management (WFM) Advanced Scheduling in a large-scale resort, casino, hospitality, healthcare, retail, or multi-site operation
  • Strong understanding of labor forecasting models, productivity metrics, workforce analytics, and financial planning
  • Experience supporting union and non-union workforces
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders across diverse business functions
  • Strong project management experience and process improvement
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
  • Ability to gather, synthesize and analyze data and draw logical conclusions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position oversees the Labor Analyst team.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
