Fire Alarm & Life Safety Manager at W3Global

We are seeking an experienced

Fire Alarm & Life Safety Manager to lead our Fire & Life Safety division. This is a hands-on working-manager role responsible for team leadership, estimating, invoicing, code compliance, customer relationships, and technical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Division & Team Leadership

• Lead, schedule, and develop fire alarm technicians, inspectors, estimators, and invoicing staff.
• Own division performance, including job margins, on-time completion, and customer satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain engineering, inspection, and quality standards.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.

Fire Alarm Estimating & Engineering

• Prepare and review fire alarm estimates for new construction, retrofit, inspection, and service projects.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Ensure designs and proposals comply with NFPA 72, IBC, and applicable fire/life safety codes.
• Review team deliverables for technical accuracy and code compliance.

Project & Customer Management

• Serve as the primary contact for customers, AHJs, and fire marshals.
• Coordinate with Operations, Project Managers, and field teams throughout project execution.
• Manage escalations, change orders, and complex technical/design issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and quality.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience leading or supervising a fire alarm/life safety team or division.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and applicable codes, particularly NFPA 72 and IBC.
• Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/design software.

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Level II or III certification preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD or fire alarm design software.
• Experience with major fire alarm platforms such as Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Honeywell, or similar.
• Experience with multifamily, commercial, or industrial projects.

On-Call Requirement

• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for emergency fire alarm and life safety response.
