Civil Engineer at The Greenridge Group

The Greenridge Group is a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management for major public-sector agencies.

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Facilities Services Division. This opportunity is ideal for a California-licensed Civil Engineer with strong experience in civil design, site development, and public or commercial projects. Experience supporting educational facilities is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex civil engineering work related to the planning, design, and construction of LAUSD facilities and site improvements.
• Review civil engineering plans, specifications, design drawings, and technical documents for compliance with applicable codes, District standards, and project requirements.
• Provide technical direction and coordination to architects, consulting engineers, District personnel, and other project professionals.
• Support civil site development involving grading, paving, parking, streets, storm drainage, sewer systems, fencing, utilities, and other site improvements.
• Assist with project scope development, budget preparation, design review, and technical coordination.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve civil engineering issues encountered during construction.
• Coordinate with the City of Los Angeles and consultants for permits and approvals related to off-site improvements, including sidewalks, driveways, bus drop-offs, and ADA curb ramps.
• Develop and review civil engineering standards, guidelines, and specifications.
• Provide professional certification of civil engineering designs and documents as authorized by applicable licensing requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized college or university.
• Minimum 8 years of full-time professional experience in civil design on commercial or public-agency projects.
• Educational/K-12 facilities experience is highly preferred.
• Valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering – required.
• Experience with AutoCAD design software – required.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Adobe, and other standard office software.
• Strong knowledge of civil design, site development, applicable codes, construction requirements, and technical documentation.
