Litigation Attorney (Plaintiff Personal Injury) at CrewBloom

We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to handle plaintiff-side personal injury matters, with additional exposure to elder abuse and employment law cases. This role will take hands-on ownership of litigation activities, including discovery, depositions, motions, expert coordination, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.

The ideal candidate has strong California civil litigation experience, can independently manage a caseload and execute case strategy, and is comfortable working with serious-injury cases, medical records, and expert-driven litigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft complaints, demand letters, written discovery, and discovery responses.
• Draft, oppose, and argue motions in state and federal court.
• Take depositions of defendants, treating physicians, and retained experts.
• Defend plaintiff depositions and prepare clients for testimony.
• Prepare witnesses, treating providers, and experts for deposition and trial.
• Coordinate with medical, biomechanical, economic, life care planning, and accident reconstruction experts.
• Review medical records, imaging, and provider reports to assess injury and causation issues.
• Develop case strategy with senior litigation counsel and independently execute litigation plans.
• Attend hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Maintain timely communication with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal teams.
• Independently manage competing deadlines across a serious-injury caseload.

Qualifications

• Active California State Bar license in good standing.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 2–3 years of civil litigation experience; plaintiff-side experience preferred, though relevant defense-side experience will be considered.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered with substantial independent case-handling experience, including depositions, contested motions, and expert work.
• Hands-on experience taking and defending depositions.
• Demonstrated law and motion experience in California state court; federal court experience is a plus.
• Comfortable reviewing medical records and understanding anatomy, injury mechanisms, and common treatment pathways in orthopedic, neurological, and soft-tissue cases.
• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Able to independently manage a caseload while remaining responsive to lead attorney direction.
• Professional, organized, and able to manage competing litigation deadlines.
• Personal injury, medical malpractice, or general liability experience is a plus, particularly involving serious injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, or traumatic brain injury.
• First- or second-chair trial experience is preferred.
• Experience with high-value, expert-heavy cases is preferred.
• Familiarity with the California Code of Civil Procedure, local court rules, and California state and federal e-filing is preferred.
