Haas Automation seeks Senior Packaging Engineers in Oxnard, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide innovative packaging solutions in a timely manner for the packaging of large machinery / components to national and international customers independently.
• Develop and design solutions for packaging Haas machines and accessories for shipping.
• Ensure proper design protocols and procedures are followed.
• Effectively communicate reasoning behind design decisions.
• Remain up to date on new packaging trends, materials, and technology.
• Create, administer, and implement Engineering Change Requests.
• Maintain a task schedule and hold deadlines.
• Take full ownership of assigned projects.
• Handle complex issues and problems.
• May act as lead to junior employees within the department.
• Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
• Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Packaging Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of related experience. Requires 3 years of experience with the following: Packaging design for national shipping; Packaging design for international shipping; Full design process from concept, prototype, testing, and production; Reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations in English; Writing analytical and/or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and creating instructional reference materials; Applying principles of logical and scientific thinking as well as working with a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; Dealing with nonverbal symbolism such as formulas, scientific equations, graphs, and musical notes; Dealing with a variety of abstract and concrete variables; Calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Applying concepts of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.

10% domestic travel is required.
