Internal General Manager (INS856) at Hire Overseas
We’re looking for an Internal General Manager to help run the day-to-day business at a fast-moving offshore staffing and HR company serving U.S. businesses. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can move between strategy and execution, identify what needs to be done, and take responsibility for getting it done.
This is a small business. You’ll work in a lean environment where you’ll need to make decisions independently, build processes as needed, and take ownership of getting things done. You will work closely with the founders and have significant autonomy over how you organize the business, solve problems, improve processes, and move priorities forward.
This role is a strong fit for someone who is highly organized, commercially minded, resourceful, and comfortable operating with incomplete information. You should enjoy figuring things out, building systems where they do not exist, and taking ownership of outcomes rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
Why You'll Want to Join
- You will be paid in USD (bi-monthly: every 15th and 30th)
- Paid Time Off in accordance with company policy
- Observance of Holidays per company guidelines
- 100% remote setup so you can work wherever you're most productive
- This role requires availability during US business hours
- Work directly with the founders of a growing offshore staffing company with established traction and a proven business model
- High degree of autonomy and ownership over how the business operates
- Broad exposure across operations, sales, client delivery, recruiting, finance, and internal systems
- Opportunity to identify problems, build solutions, and see the direct impact of your work on the business
What You'll Work On
Business Operations and Execution
- Work closely with the founders to keep the business moving across day-to-day priorities
- Turn high-level goals and ideas into concrete plans, owners, deadlines, and follow-through
- Identify operational gaps, bottlenecks, and recurring problems before they become larger issues
- Take ownership of projects from initial idea through implementation
- Keep priorities organized and ensure important work does not get lost
- Make practical decisions independently and escalate issues when founder input is genuinely needed
Process and Systems
- Build, document, and improve internal processes as the company grows
- Identify repetitive or inefficient work and find ways to simplify, automate, or eliminate it
- Create systems that make responsibilities, workflows, and performance easier to track
- Establish operating rhythms that help the team stay accountable and focused
- Audit existing processes and determine what should be changed, removed, or built from scratch
- Maintain a high level of organization across internal tools, documentation, and workflows
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate work across sales, recruiting, client success, and other functions as needed
- Make sure handoffs between teams are clear and that responsibilities do not fall through the cracks
- Follow up on open items and push projects toward completion
- Identify dependencies and resolve issues that are slowing down execution
- Serve as a central point of coordination when multiple functions or priorities intersect
Performance and Business Reporting
- Track key business metrics and turn operational data into useful insights
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and tracking systems as needed
- Monitor performance against company goals and identify areas that need attention
- Help the founders understand what is working, what is not, and where resources should be focused
- Use data and firsthand observation to recommend improvements to the business
Founder Support and Special Projects
- Work directly with the founders on high-priority business initiatives
- Take ambiguous problems and turn them into actionable projects
- Research new tools, vendors, processes, and opportunities when needed
- Step into areas of the business that need additional attention, even when they do not fit neatly into a job description
- Take ownership of projects that require coordination across multiple parts of the company
- Act as a force multiplier for the founders by taking problems off their plate and driving them to resolution
What You Bring
- Proven experience in business operations, general management, project management, consulting, entrepreneurship, or a similar high-ownership role
- Strong organizational and project management skills with a track record of following through
- Comfortable working independently without needing detailed instructions for every task
- Strong judgment and the ability to prioritize when multiple things need attention at once
- Resourceful problem solver who can figure things out with limited information
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with founders and senior stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
- Commercially minded and able to understand how operational decisions affect revenue, customers, and the broader business
- Comfortable working in a small company where responsibilities can change quickly based on what the business needs
- Willing to get into the details when necessary rather than managing entirely from a distance
Nice to Have
- Experience working at a startup, small business, or founder-led company
- Experience in operations, staffing, recruiting, HR, professional services, or another service-based business
- Experience building processes and systems from scratch
- Familiarity with CRM, project management, automation, and business intelligence tools
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams
- Experience managing multiple functions or projects simultaneously
- Experience working with U.S.-based companies or customers
- Previous experience in a general management, chief of staff, business operations, or similar role
How to Apply
Please include:
- Your updated resume
- A short Loom video (1 to 2 minutes) introducing yourself, describing your experience working in a high-ownership environment, and sharing an example of a problem you identified and solved without being given a step-by-step process
Only candidates who submit a Loom video will be moved to the next step of the hiring process.
If you are someone who likes having ownership, moves quickly, and would rather figure out how to solve a problem than wait for someone else to tell you what to do, this role gives you the opportunity to work closely with the founders and have a direct impact on how the business operates.
