Director - Consultant Relations at Lord Abbett
The Role
The Director, Consultant Relations will leverage well-established industry knowledge to maintain and strengthen the firm’s presence and relationships within the global consultant community across both traditional and alternative investment capabilities.
We’ll Trust You To
- Act as a primary relationship manager for global and national consulting firms by delivering Lord Abbett’s full suite of capabilities—including fixed income, equity, and alternative strategies—to provide differentiated solutions and a best-in-class client experience
- Drive engagement across consultant organizations, including Manager Research, Field Consultants, OCIO teams, and senior leadership, to promote the firm’s comprehensive investment platform
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of consulting firm’s research priorities across both traditional and alternative investments, sharing insights internally to inform product development and strategic positioning
- Contribute views and ideas to the short and long-term Consultant Relations strategic approach across both traditional and alternative investment consulting firms, ensuring coordinated coverage and messaging across all consultant channels
- Partner with Institutional Sales and Relationship Management teams to foster a high-trust, collaborative environment in pursuit of firmwide growth objectives across asset classes
- Represent Lord Abbett in the institutional marketplace, bringing back actionable insights on industry trends, asset allocation shifts, and consultant sentiment
- Maintain strong awareness of key competitors, industry dynamics, and evolving client demands across public and private markets
- Build and communicate a holistic understanding of the firm, including its culture, capital markets expertise, and investment capabilities across fixed income, equities, and alternatives
- Actively represent Lord Abbett at industry events, conferences, and consultant meetings
You'll Need To Have
- 7+ years of experience in investment, consultant relations, sales, or relationship management, with exposure to traditional and/or alternative investment strategies; institutional asset management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of and relationships within the consultant community across public and private markets
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, and drive alignment across internal and external partners
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency and initiative
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to set objectives, provide direction, and operate with an innovative, high-energy, and entrepreneurial mindset

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $220,000-$240,000 . Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
