IT Support Specialist at Aureate
Aureate Group is hiring an in-house IT Support Specialist. We are a Real Estate and Construction
group in the Tampa area, and we are moving day-to-day IT support in-house from our managed
service provider.
You will be the go-to person for our employees' technology. This includes onboarding and offboarding
employees on our Microsoft 365 tenant, solving everyday support issues, and keeping devices and
accounts in good order. You will work with the Software team and management to implement an
internal ticketing system to resolve IT requests across the company.
Requirements
Onboarding and offboarding (Microsoft 365)
• Create, license, and configure new user accounts in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including groups,
shared mailboxes, distribution lists, and Teams memberships.
• Prepare and hand off laptops, phones, and accessories so new hires are productive on day one.
• Walk new employees through their accounts, MFA setup, and the tools they will use.
• Off-board departing employees promptly and securely: block sign-in, revoke sessions, convert or
delegate mailboxes, transfer OneDrive data, reclaim licenses, and recover equipment.
• Keep onboarding and off-boarding checklists current, and coordinate timing with HR and
managers.
End-user support
• Be the first point of contact for IT requests in person, by phone, Teams, and email.
• Provide remote desktop support for employees working from other offices, job sites, or home.
• Troubleshoot Windows and macOS computers, iPhones, printers, peripherals, and common
business apps.
• Give everyday tech help: setting up software, fixing sync and sharing issues, and showing people
how to get more out of their tools.
• Handle password resets, MFA enrollment and recovery, and account lockouts.
• Track requests in the ticketing system and close the loop with users.
• Escalate complex issues to vendors and follow them through to resolution.
Devices, accounts, and security basics
• Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software, and licenses.
• Enroll and manage devices with Intune and Apple Business Manager, and keep them patched and
encrypted.
• Monitor license usage and flag unused or missing licenses.
• Apply security basics: MFA for everyone, least-privilege access, and timely removal of access for
leavers.
• Support SaaS applications used across the entities, including user provisioning and access
reviews.
Email security and management
• Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, aliases, and mail flow
rules.
• Monitor and tune spam, phishing, and malware protection, and review quarantined messages.
• Investigate suspicious emails reported by employees and respond to compromised accounts.
• Help employees spot phishing and other email threats through quick tips and occasional training.
Documentation and transition from the MSP
• Help take over services, credentials, and documentation from our outgoing MSP.
• Write clear how-to guides and internal runbooks for recurring tasks.
• Suggest improvements to tools and processes as you learn how the business works.
Required qualifications
• 2+ years in an IT support, help desk, or desktop support role.
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365: the admin center, Exchange Online, Entra ID
users and groups, licensing, and Teams. Experience providing remote desktop support.
• Comfortable supporting both Windows and macOS, plus iOS devices.
• Working knowledge of MFA, password management, and account security practices.
• Clear, patient communication with non-technical people, in person and in writing.
• Organized and self-directed: able to juggle requests, follow checklists precisely, and work without
a large team around you.
• Discretion with confidential information, including executive and financial data.
Preferred qualifications
• Networking experience: configuring and troubleshooting switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points,
VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
• Experience with Intune or another MDM, and with Apple Business Manager.
• Experience with email security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and with SPF,
DKIM, and DMARC.
• Experience in a small business or multi-company environment where you were a primary IT
contact.
• Scripting or automation with PowerShell or Microsoft Graph.
Benefits
