U.S. Bank is currently seeking a Workforce Insights and Reporting Business Analyst, who will be responsible for very complex reporting projects that gather and integrate large volumes of human resources and business data, performs in-depth analysis, interprets results, and develops actionable insights and recommendations for use across the company. As a senior individual contributor working with senior leaders, the position requires strong business analysis, as well as interpersonal and communication skills. The person in this position will manage multiple projects at one time. Additional responsibilities include:

• Acquires data from multiple data sources to perform analysis and reporting;

• Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data to provide answers to business questions, as well as provides recommendations for action to business partners/management;

• Develops new insights and understanding of business performance based on data to help solve complex business questions;

• Presents data and analysis in a clear and concise manner allowing the audience to quickly understand the results and recommendations to activate upon them and make data-driven decisions;

• Collaborates with business partners to prioritize requests/needs;

• Collaborates with various partners to provide a holistic view of the analysis, i.e., Product Management, HR Business Partners, Risk Management, etc.);

• Develops scorecard(s) and dashboard(s) in WebFOCUS and Power BI;

• Measures and monitors results of applied recommendations and presents adjustments, if necessary;

• Ensures all data acquisition and results of applied recommendations are compliant with company standards; and

• Processes report and project requests received through U.S. Bank’s case management system.


Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

• Five to seven years of data analysis experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Human Resources, Business, Finance, Data Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Economics

• Five to seven years of extracting, collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting results for insights in a meaningful way - telling a story with data visualizations

• Extensive, hands-on data analysis experience with large data sets

• Five to seven years of experience partnering with Human Resource Professionals regarding their human capital data needs for HR processes, i.e., performance management, engagement survey, succession planning, etc., and overall talent lifecycle, i.e., talent acquisition, terminations, onboarding, etc.

• Five to seven years of Microsoft Excel experience utilizing pivot tables, power pivots, charts, conditional formatting, creating formulas, and utilizing Excel prebuilt formulas, v-lookups, and file joins

• Four years of experience creating and running reports in the Human Capital Management system(s), PeopleSoft, and/or Taleo (OBI), for the purposes of extracting, collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting results for insights

• Three to five years of experience developing dashboards in Power BI and/or Tableau

• Two years or more of experience with Visual Basic (VBA Excel Macros)

• Two to five years of experience using SPSS, R, SAS, Python, Excel, etc. for statistical analysis in workplace/organizational environment

• Three years or more of experience as a Business Analyst

• Experience with MS Visio (diagrams, charts, flowcharts, etc.)

• Two years of experience writing code in HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, and/or SQL

• Ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with senior business unit management, business partners, and project sponsors

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

• Strong organization and project management skills

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

• Must be comfortable with ambiguity and having the mental agility to quickly adjust and adapt to change

• Experience in financial services industry or with financial services products, customers, transactions, and interaction data

• Experience working with DBAs or Information Technology team members on role-level security and data access management

• Experience working with large databases, such as DB2, SQL, AWS, Greenplum, etc.

• Experience in WebFOCUS AppStudio or WebFOCUS InfoAssist for developing, querying data, and for data manipulation/transformation to create reports and dashboards

• Experience with reporting and creating dashboards in Workday

• Experience working with Qualtrics (or other survey tools) for report generation and analysis
