Position Description

What does a great Program Test Manager do?

The GBS testing team provides full testing services for solutions and products we offer to our clients. This position is for a someone who is responsible the planning, organizing, monitoring, and have oversight of all phases of testing for critical, high visibility projects. You will ensure the quality of the products, technical solutions and services developed for both internal and external use to provide core payment processing services to our customers. You will be contributing at both an individual level as well as a team level to achieve the organization's objectives and goals around Software Quality Assurance. You will have exposure to projects for the leading payment-processing provider in Financial Technology space as well as gain experience working with existing and new technologies which will provide you with career growth and core competency development.

As a Test Manager, you can look forward to:

  • Develop and execute overall test strategy to support the solution deployment.

  • Work closely with project manager and others to ensure business testing requirements are being met.

  • Build and maintain documents and deliverables associated with manual and automated enterprise applications testing.

  • Lead preparation of business scenarios and required test scripts, including identification of needed master and transactional data to execute end-to-end testing.

  • Facilitate test meetings and escalating issues/concerns to the project management team as needed.

  • Monitor issues and defects for trends and provide metrics to the PM as team.

  • Responsible for the oversight of requirement traceability throughout all test phases.

  • Responsible for management and oversight of test team to ensure timely test execution, proper test result documentation, timely defects and issues reporting, and timely retest.

  • Participate in requirements and design walkthroughs to understand the testing needs and raise questions to clarify as needed.

  • Manage risks associated with the testing and takes preventative action when any risks become unacceptable.

  • Assess and advise on the practicality of testing process alternatives, including automated testing.

  • Manage partner relationships with respect to all testing matters.

  • Performs other duties as required

Required qualifications for consideration:

  • High School Diploma/GED Required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 4+ years of related Technical experience with a minimum of 4 years of testing leadership experience.

  • Project and/or Test Management experience in high-volume, large-scale processing and reporting

  • Program planning techniques including Defect and Issue Management.

  • Knowledge of SDLC principles and practices.

  • Extensive experience with testing initiatives manual testing and test automation

  • Experience using collaboration software (e.g. Live Meeting, GoToMeeting)

  • Microsoft Office suite experience including Project Planning, PowerPoint

  • Experience with Sharepoint or Confluence or similar tools

  • Experience with defect tracking tools (Jira, CLM)

  • Extensive knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, network) and their application to business functions/processes

  • Knowledge of testing tools and database concepts.

  • Experience and ability to understand different forms of user and system requirements and translate them into test scripts.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Good communication skills, including verbal, written and effective presentation skills.

  • Flexibility to work after hours and/or on call rotations as needed.

  • Travel up to 5%

Preferred qualifications:

  • Clarity PPM (Project and Portfolio Management)

  • Experience working in the Merchant Payment Processing/Financial Services Industry

  • PMP certification a plus
