Position Description

What does a great Senior Software Development Engineer do?

You play a key role in developing industry-leading software for our customers. You'll identify, develop, and test intricate technical solutions that support Bank Solutions' product strategies and address the market needs of Fiserv clients and their customers. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, where you can apply your existing knowledge to solve new market problems on almost a daily basis. You will analyze technical and business procedures and craft detailed requirements from which programs/fixes will be written. You will also develop code, test, debug, maintain, modify, and install computer software. You'll have opportunities to recommend changes in procedures and software development activities and provide solutions for improvement. This is a full-time position in a highly team oriented environment working with other skilled software professionals to deliver software to help clients improve the way they do business.

Work with all phases of software development using agile methodologies.

You are at home when your focus is maintaining stability of software products, customer improvements and extensions to in a Sustained Engineering team where we value your contributions to the software development process.

Support and improve products by assisting in, building and validating designs for new software applications and enhancing existing software applications

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • High School/GED Diploma

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in server-side Java development including the Java EE technologies (JDBC, EJB, and JMS), and Structured Framework experience (Struts)

  • Java / Groovy or other JVM languages

  • Container and cloud deployment platforms such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Cloud Foundry

  • Spring Framework and related technologies, particularly Spring Boot

  • SQL with JDBC and Hibernate/JPA

  • JavaScript including frameworks such as Angular, Ember, and jQuery

  • SOAP and REST web services

  • HTML and CSS web development

  • Git version control

  • Unit testing and continuous integration

Preferred qualifications for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or related discipline.

  • Experience working with Linux/UNIX-based systems

  • Experience in banking, financial services, and/or software industries running Software-as-a-Service

  • Experience developing/integrating responsive Web applications and mobile security performance methodologies
