  • As an Optical Transceiver Firmware Development Engineer in SPPD Group you will be responsible for design, implement and maintain the firmware and software tools for existing and new optical transceiver products. You will collaborate with PLM, IC, hardware, FW DVT, Module Level Testing and manufacturing team to deliver reliable and high quality firmware on time.

  • Firmware development on optical controls and I2C MSA interfaces for existing or new module products and functional tests.

  • Work with FW DVT and other testing groups for module calibrations and testing.

  • Understand requirements, design and implement next generation FW infrastructure based on a new microprocessor and RTOS.

  • Document the design, implementation and test procedures.

  • Maintain the software tools to facilitate the development, debug and testing for the FW team and beyond

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 6+ years of working experience in embedded system and firmware development.

  • 1+ years of experience in the optical industry is required.

  • 4+ years of experience in firmware development skills using C/C++ 3+ years of experience in interface standards (I2C).

  • 1+ years of experience with use of i2c host adaptors and i2c protocol analyzers.

  • 1+ years of experience VCS tools like Perforce, GIT/GIT based tools and bug tracking

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience Python and scripts skills

  • 3+ years of experience in the optical transceiver industry

  • 1+ years of experience in QSFP and CMIS firmware development
