Functions & Responsibilities:

The AWM Finance & Business Management (F&BM) team is seeking a Business Manager to support the administrative, strategic and financial health of the Operations teams for several cross functional divisions for AWM. This role will functionally report to the Business Management Lead for AWM Operations, but will have dotted line and directly support the head of Asset Management Operations.

The strong Vice President (VP) candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the head of AM Operations, providing opinions and generating ideas on how to drive the business. The VP will work directly with the head of AM Operations and partner closely with the various AM Operations Line of Business, Core AWM Operations functions (Finance, Risk, Change Mobilization), Technology, and Business Leadership to help develop and execute overall strategic roadmap. Ultimately, this VP will be responsible for managing a team of junior Business Managers to support the AM Operations organization.


Business Management & Strategy

• People Management

o Aligns the team’s global objectives with the business and communicates clear guidance for achieving them

o Drives best practices across their business management organization

o Ensures consistency, and transparency in team processes

o Develops junior talent

• Internal Consultancy

o Drive agendas for business reviews, town halls, leadership meetings, and strategy offsites

and help curate/construct presentation materials.

o Drives business initiatives through coordination of stakeholder engagement

o Manage and facilitate Tech & Ops interlocks

o Partner with Communications to create and maintain external communication portals to

ensure internal clients/stakeholders understand our objectives

o Provide ad-hoc project support for senior leadership as required

• Financial

o Partner with finance to provide business context to craft an insightful financial story used to

advise client

o Expense management including direct expenses, indirect expenses and forecasting

o Headcount reporting – partner with Finance to create meaningful analysis for decision making

o Drive / Track efficiencies

o Allocation administration and management

o Total Cost of Ownership / Profitability analysis

o Cost center / legal entity maintenance

• Resource Management

o Location strategy

o Forecasting/Allocations

o Hiring requests

o Skill Mapping (BCT)

o Vendor management, including contracts, temporary workforce and invoices

o Spans & layers (Span of Control) Management

• 7+ years of relevant experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related area

• Experience supporting management in Chief-of-Staff-like role, preferably in a Financial Services organization

• Experience or knowledge in Asset Management is a plus

• Strategic vision while retaining strong attention to detail and balancing short term requirements

• Strong presentation skills and excellent communication both written and verbal.

• Strong inter-personal and communication skills, good relationship building at all levels of the hierarchy.

• Strong Team Player with ability to thrive in unstructured, high pressure environment

• Adept at traversing between business, technology and operations teams to drive consensus and alignment

• Quick learner who can delve into new and complex subject matter, quickly get up to speed and drive decision making, airing out options

• Delivery and impact-focused

• Strong change agent

• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; proficiency in Essbase a plus
