What We're Looking For


The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our team of Project Managers onsite at DFW Airport. The Assistant Project Manager performs basic contract administration functions for medium projects, and assists in performing field inspection of multiple routine contractor activities.


Primary Focus Will Include:


  • Coordinate project designs and reviewing process with client departments, stakeholders and Designer/Architect


  • Support PM in the management of proposed change orders, claims, modifications to the plans, Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, RFQs, and RFPs


  • Helps prepare project-related documents (meeting agendas, meeting notes, reports, correspondence, project photos, etc.)


  • Coordinate site visits to support designers and contractors in the understanding of their respective scopes on each project


  • Coordinate design review meetings where Designer/Architect presents the project to all involved stakeholders


  • Lead specific/small package items as part of the routine of project management and report to PM (scope, schedule and cost)

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:


  • Aviation facilities experience

What You'll Need


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Inspects and documents individual activities performed by the contractor.


  • Performs measurement of completed work to date.


  • Reads and comprehends contract documents.


  • Keeps inspectors daily report of assigned work activities.


  • Maintains overall project daily diary.


  • Prepares monthly construction estimates.


  • Assists in on-site material testing.


  • Monitors construction progress to assure proper installation sequences and compliance with schedule and contract requirements and state and local regulations.


  • Assists in the review and modification of schedules, specifications and drawings.


  • Prepares short term schedules to identify potential scheduling problems and recommends possible solutions.


  • Acts as project manager as needed.


  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture


  • 1 year construction experience


  • All jurisdictional certifications as required
