VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, AAHA-accredited, 24-hour emergency/specialty/general practice in Loomis, California—located just northeast of Sacramento.

We are seeking a Full Time Exam Room Veterinary Assistant for our busy hybrid specialty hospital. Some experience in a veterinary hospital required

Must be flexible, willing to work a variety of shifts, some weekends and holidays required

Job Duties:

o Assist the Veterinarians in rooms with the patients

o Obtain TPRs, take patient histories

o Pharmacy: fill prescriptions, educate clients on medications

o Primary assistance with the veterinarians

Qualifications for all positions:

• Desire to uphold a high quality of patient care and client service

• Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail

• Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

• Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff and peers in a team environment

• Experience in animal restraint

• Has a warm, approachable manner and excellent interpersonal skills
