Job Summary

AECOM is seeking candidates for future openings for Submarine Electronics Technicians to provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.

Positions can be located at any of the following locations: Norfolk, VA; Groton, CT; Bremerton, WA; Honolulu, HI; or Kittery, ME.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Install, monitor, and service Periscope Imaging, BLQ 10, ESM and BPS Radar equipment and systems at Company and client sites.

  • Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks. Perform validations/ verifications of various electronic systems.

  • Review change proposals for equipment impacts.

  • Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.

  • Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, trouble-shooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.

  • Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.

  • Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.

  • Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.

  • Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures.

  • Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.

  • Serve as senior/lead technician and assist in the training of other technicians.

  • May support engineers in the development of technical proposal and provide input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.

  • Responsible for providing a weekly/monthly CWITT status report input for relevant task orders in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for completing assigned action items and provides input to data calls, tasking, funding, cost estimates, etc., for I&EW SME support in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for ensuring a professional, proactive, and customer-oriented approach to I&EW SME support.

  • Responsible for providing effective written and verbal communication and strives for continuous improvement.

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, executing, monitoring, tracking, and reporting requirements, resources, tasks, milestones, products, and services required for CWITT support in a programmatic, process-oriented, organized manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Formal electronics training from a Technical or U.S. Navy "C" school and at least five plus (5+) years of job-related experience.

  • Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment.

  • Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.

  • Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills.

  • Position will require 50-60% regular travel.

  • Must possess current SECRET security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred candidates will have knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
