Role: Medical Director, I-SNPLocation: Chicago, IllinoisTravel: 10% within RegionThe Medical Director will provide insight and thought leadership to develop and maintain external relationships across the healthcare ecosystem with a focus on Humana’s Medicare Advantage, I-SNP product. This role will support visibility and growth of Humana brand across the provider community, business, and government sectors.


Responsibilities


The I-SNP Medical Director provides medical expertise for external relationships involving Value Based Care, Bold Goal/Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), local and state government, and vendor relationships. Develops and maintains relationships among various healthcare stakeholders to enhance Humana I-SNP business model. The role works across multiple areas within the organization to develop functional strategies to address matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision.


Required Qualifications


  • A current and unrestricted license in Illinois


  • MD degree


  • Board Certified in an approved ABMS Medical Specialty


  • Minimum 5 years of medical management experience within health insurance organizations including external facing responsibilities.


  • Excellent communication skills


  • Strong presentation skills


  • Knowledge of managed care industry including Medicare and Medicaid


  • Possess analytic and interpretation skills with prior experience leading external focused programs to improve and/or address quality, cost and social determinants of health.

Preferred Qualifications


  • MBA, MPH and/or MMM degree


  • Experience within Humana


  • Experience in population health within long term care settings to include nursing homes


  • Previous experience with Medicare Advantage I-SNP programs
