MHC Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) to join our Behavioral Health team at the Santa Catalina Health Center in Catalina, AZ. MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 16 sites in Tucson and Pima County. MHC Healthcare is building a world-class integrated health care system that is committed to caring for special populations, and focused on improving health outcomes for our patients. The LISAC will provide direct client services consisting of individual, group and/or family therapy with an emphasis on substance use prevention, screening, intervention and treatment. LISAC may also provide community-based services, including crisis intervention. Client assessment, treatment and aftercare planning are included in all clinical positions. LISAC will use independent judgment in carrying out daily job responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC); required.

  • Master's degree in Social Services and Independent Licensed Status (LPC/LCSW) in Arizona; preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field; required.

  • Experience in medical/behavioral health setting with at-risk youth or adults; preferred.

  • Experience conducting individual, group or family therapy, or special focus substance use groups; required.

  • Experience with Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) system, private insurance, educational procedures and laws, legal system and community resources; preferred.

  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through DPS; required.

  • TB test; required.

  • CPR certified; required.

  • First Aid certified; required.

  • Current driver's license with valid auto insurance and a 39-month MVR driving record report from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent computer skills.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment of substance use.

  • Thorough knowledge of current versions of DSM and ICD.
