Formed by the collision industry in 1979, I-CAR is an international, not-for-profit training organization. All I-CAR activities and resources focus on helping the industry achieve a high level of technical training.
The I-CAR vision is that every person in the collision industry, current and future, has the necessary knowledge and skills relevant to their position to achieve a complete and safe repair.

I-CAR develops and delivers technical training programs to professionals in all areas of the collision industry. In addition, I-CAR provides a communication forum for anyone interested in proper collision repair. I-CAR's primary funding is derived from student tuition and services. This assures that I-CAR can remain unbiased in developing programs and services on an industry-wide basis.



Job Description




Job Summary: The  Project Management, Business Partner role will be the liaison between the leadership team and the individual team members of assigned departments and/or functional areas and the BEO team. Working across all levels of the company, he/she will focus on leading the project management discipline across these functional areas becoming an integral part of the future success of I-CAR . This role will also include responsibility for managing the I-CAR lean initiative which includes developing a Lean culture with a focus on improving customer satisfaction, reducing cycle time, improving quality and reducing cost. 


Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Lead individual projects as project manager.

  • Establish yourself as a trusted resource for leadership team members in your area of responsibility for new initiatives and project discussions – become a true business partner.

  • Have a solid understanding of I-CAR’s short and long term strategies and be able to link all projects to this strategy.

  • Establish clear communication channels with assigned departments and functional teams that link groups together in a bilateral fashion.

  • Develop an overall understanding of each initiative in the project portfolio in order to understand the potential customer impact and service requirements.

  • Interface with Agile teams to ensure that the required project management activity is integrated into Agile methodology.

  • Lead reviews of any significant initiatives, projects or programs that are challenged and provide recommendations as to whether it should continue, be significantly changed, placed on hold or discontinued.

  • Create, establish and maintain required project management documentation.

  • Lead project resource requirements analysis across the assigned department(s) and functional groups.

Additional Responsibilities include:  


  • Develop I-CAR’s Lean culture and lead the enterprise business process and continuous improvement capabilities.  

  • Facilitate function and form definition with business areas. 

  • Identify and prioritize process opportunities and initiatives across the enterprise to improve customer satisfaction, reduce cycle time, improve quality and reduce costs.

  • Lead key cross-enterprise improvements using established Lean best practices, methodologies and tools (Kaizen, process maps, A3, SOPs, etc.), including assessment, planning, event facilitation, change management and performance metrics.   

  • Work with Senior level management to integrate continuous improvement and drive change toward operational efficiencies into the company’s business strategy.  Evaluate, analyze and recommend operational changes to leadership.   

  • Champion of Lean and problem-solving across I-CAR through teaching, facilitating, coaching and mentoring. 

  • Be a Lean resource for anyone in any I-CAR function. 



Qualifications




Skills and Aptitudes:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex messages to all levels of the organization.

  • Strong decision-making skills,with the ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently.

  • Demonstrates competency in developing and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.

  • Thorough knowledge and related work experience of the project management process, theory and lifecycle, including Waterfall and Agile methodology, as well as Project Delivery Framework and SDLC.

  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and oversee multiple projects, manage schedules, resource allocation/planning and maximize work efforts across all teams.

  • Possess excellent prioritization, resource planning and management skills as well as proven ability in the identification, assessment and contingency planning and managing for risk factors.

  • Proven competency to effectively interact at all levels across the organization, working to build and maintain successful relationships across all departments.

  • Proven competency in business analysis, requirements definition, and business case production.

  • Skilled at creating and delivering executive level presentations.

  • Proven consultative, conflict resolution, negotiation and facilitation skills to gain consensus and ensure delivery of initiatives.

  • Demonstrates flexibility and able to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet strict deadlines with sudden and unpredictable changes that may occur.

  • Ability to improve current processes and procedures; present opportunities for change and help implement them for the benefit of the company.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of information technology and its application to business issues; understands the use of information technology in a strategic context as a means to an end; is conversant with current technologies and trends relevant to the firm.

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, who sets high standards for self and others and demonstrates enthusiasm for the mission of the team.

Experience and Education:


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in portfolio, program and/or project management with a successful project management track record in full life cycle information technology implementation projects, with proven record of execution to time and budget

  • Minimum of 5 years experience implementing and teaching Lean concepts

  • Knowledge and understanding of standard project management tools (for example, Microsoft Project, Clarity, PPM)

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • B.S., B.A. or equivalent 

Desired skills:


  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

  • PMP preferred

  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce) and LMS (Docebo) systems including defining workflows
