Who We Are:


At Twitter our Client Platform Engineering team focuses on implementing and supporting systems to help our internal customers meet their day-to-day operational needs. We are responsible for establishing baseline infrastructure to manage a fleet of mixed endpoints. As part of our IT Infrastructure team you will partner with our IT End User Services and IT Systems Engineering teams to support the corporate environment, as well as working with multiple stakeholders on a project-to-project basis. Our mission is to keep our business running effectively while maintaining a healthy technology environment.


To guide the Client Platform Engineering team Twitter is looking for a manager who is able to balance the specific needs of the team with the broader vision of Twitter IT. This individual is a technology leader who will be responsible for driving the teams vision while partnering with IT Product Management to deliver against a shared roadmap. He/she will work closely with several internal stakeholders including Engineering, Finance, User Services, Marketing, as well as Sales and Legal to support and deliver products that drive the business and enhance end user experience.


 




Job Description




What You’ll Do:


  • Actively manage a high-performing team by recruiting excellent talent, developing and rewarding existing talent, managing resources efficiently, and demonstrating great leadership

  • Drive team-wide and individual performance through improvements in process, products and tools

  • Effectively work cross-functionally with stakeholders to deliver the solutions & outcomes that meet internal and external customer needs

  • Act as evangelist for Client Platform Engineering at Twitter

  • Identify requirements for capacity planning, system optimization, scaling, and performance, focusing with the team on ensuring high availability for IT systems

  • Partner with Twitter operations teams to ensure business continuity and  fleet compliance

  • Establish metrics to measure effectiveness and drive improvements

  • Drive technical strategy and partner with IT Product Management in planning and execution of next generation of products, helping build consensus and driving execution

  • Support the use of agile methodologies to drive projects and metrics for the team

  • Develop and manage relationships with customers

  • Communicate effectively with Twitter leadership, IT peers, stakeholders, and end users regarding system and endpoint activities

  • Remain current on industry best practices & emerging technologies. Evaluate their usefulness and applicability to the Twitter environment and our customers



Qualifications




Qualifications:


  • 5+ years IT Management experience

  • Knowledge of endpoint management systems and practices

  • Experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale endpoint fleets

  • Experience in technical delivery of large scale infrastructure projects with multiple dependencies across teams

  • Background in IT or customer support environments

  • Strong analytical skills, customer empathy, and ability to grow individual careers

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments where the only constant is change

  • Background in MacOS, Windows and ChromeOS endpoint management

 


Requirements:


  • Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role

  • Familiarity with Agile framework

  • SOC2/ISO compliance management a plus

  • Organizational and leadership abilities

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Aptitude for problem-solving at scale

  • Creative thinking skills

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

  • Occasional travel as needed
