The Information Technology Department has an opening for a Senior Manager, Enterprise Business Intelligence. This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona.


Position Purpose


The Senior Manager will be involved in many different business driven initiatives spanning digital, marketing, merchandising, finance, supply chain operations, retail operations, human resources, etc. This person will be a member of the leadership team and manage a team developing, implementing, and supporting BI Solutions. This leadership position in the Enterprise Business Intelligence Group will report to the IT Director, Enterprise Business Intelligence.


The role will be responsible for the operation, continuous improvement and innovation of the Data Analytics & Enterprise Business Intelligence platform and footprint that is used for delivering a wide variety of data and analytic solutions for various business stakeholders. The individual in this role will provide input on ways to improve our processes, incorporate best practices and policies. Must have strong communication skills with the ability to discuss and present information and issues across a wide variety of individuals and groups (inside and outside of IT). In addition, this individual must have a proven track record of working successfully with cross-functional teams delivering high quality and complex solutions within the IT space.


Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Work closely with the Director to ensure that they clearly understand the business priorities and are working on the right projects.
  • Determine data needs of the enterprise as well as the data needs of the project.
  • Promote self-service data and analytic solutions that empower the customer to explore and manage data insights
  • Implement solutions that eliminate or minimize technical debt through a well-designed architecture, data model, and lifecycle
  • Deliver projects on-time, to specification, and within budget
  • Proactively solve problems deliver solutions to deliver and protect business value
  • Research and propagate advanced analytical methods and technology to enhance insight and decision making
  • Seek feedback from partners and stakeholders on methods and technology they find valuable
  • Develop and present business cases for new technology
  • Actively participate in the roadmap and lifecycle of methods and technology with relevant stakeholders
  • Engage in Enterprise Architecture processes to align and support required capabilities
  • Participate in data architecture sessions and promote integrated systems and controlled data redundancy.
  • Ensure alignment with the company's standards and procedures for project management, architecture direction, development standards, security requirements and supportability.
  • Work closely with director and business partners to establish 3 to 5 years roadmap for key support areas
  • Direct a team of project managers, architects, engineers, analysts, and others in delivering big data capabilities
  • Ensure the team remains current on required skills
  • Invest time in coaching and mentoring team members
  • Provide timely and honest feedback and assessments
  • Deliver clear messages that provide recognition and foster improvement
  • Know people in your team as individuals
  • Encourage the team to innovate and to be creative
  • Delivery the necessary forecast for the resources and funding that is needed to achieve the work plans.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7-10 years of experience leading effective development teams that are both technical and functional
  • Knowledge on Enterprise Business Intelligence tools and technology like Snowflake, Oracle, BI, ETL, ELT and other data management technologies
  • Experience in building and rolling out data visualization tools like Power BI, OBIEE, Crystal, etc. at the enterprise level is a plus
  • Experience operating in cloud data environments (Azure, Google, Oracle) is a plus
  • Experience working with latest big data, data science technologies like Hadoop, Spark, R is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage to key objectives
  • Understanding of retail functions
  • Ability to build team and maintain positive working relationships of the team across the company
  • Comfortable at communicating at both a technical and executive level
  • Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and influence IT professionals across the enterprise
  • Comfortable with ambiguity as needs change on a regular basis with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency
  • Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to interact with senior management, technical subject matter experts, and business customers are all essential in this role
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously
  • Travel 10%
