About the Team:


Business Development Managers with our Education & Government Professional Services organization are the key conduit between the dynamic Professional Services organization and the burgeoning Field Sales organization. The Manager of this team is integral to the continued growth and contributions of our Education & Government business unit; and as such needs to possess the skills to manage a team of seasoned consulting sales professionals.


What you'll do:



  • Provide leadership to a team of Student Business Development Managers.
  • Work with the Senior Leadership of Sales Teams and Service Partners on pursuit efforts; and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships.
  • In addition to Managing the team, support individual Student Subscription and Services Opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and service forecast data.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and customer needs to effectively position Workday Professional Services.
  • Help develop/improve Student Business Development Processes and Tools.
  • Hire, ramp and support new services team members.
  • Evaluate and develop personnel to ensure maximum contribution of the entire team.

About You:



  • Strong knowledge of vendors, products, and services in the HCM, Payroll, Financial and/or Student enterprise application space.
  • Must have experience selling ERP consulting services (i.e., Student Information, Financials, and/or HCM/Payroll solutions), as well as delivering large-scale systems implementation projects.
  • Prefer experience – selling ERP consulting services to higher education and/or state/local government clients.
  • 5-7 years prior experience in Professional Service sales, preferably in an ERP environment.
  • 5-7 years prior experience managing ERP implementation projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability in managing complex services sales cycles from start to finish with a track record of successful service revenue and profitability attainment.
  • Ability to understand and effectively explain the benefits of an on-demand/web services architecture.

Ability to get the most out of resources.



  • Proven ability to thrive and excel in a lean, fast-paced, dynamic environment with high performance expectations.
  • Significant experience in leading large captures from inception through teaming and proposal development, to include customer requirements mapping and service engagement activities
