The Adult Chemotherapy Order Set Coordinator is responsible for managing the MGH content, concerns and priorities for the adult research and non-research protocols (PRLs) used in the beacon application of EPIC. The Coordinator works closely with the Oncology Service Line (OSL) Clinical Consensus Group, OSL Drug Standardization Committee, and Information Systems in the development, implementation, and support of the adult chemotherapy order entry application known as Beacon. This individual also works with the end-users of the beacon application to support use of the application and elicit feedback about the application's performance. Further, the Coordinator works with the Pharmacy Department, Patient Care Services, Information Systems, and the Clinical Trials group on other projects related to the Beacon application. This individual works with members of the MGH and DFCI/BWH Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medicine Departments.


  • Coordinates Beacon Protocols (PRLs) through the life-cycle of use.
  • Organizes content obtained from clinical trial documents, NCCN guidelines, and local subject matter expert for use by the beacon team to create research and standard of care PRLs.
  • Supports validation process of beacon PRLs.
  • Assists in prioritizing the work of the COE building team.
  • Develops and submits for approval, documentation and appropriate policies and procedures for the chemotherapy order sets used in legacy system as well as Beacon.
  • Works with Office Date Quality (ODQ) and Online Clinical Research Environment (Oncore) to ensure coordination flow of information necessary to build protocol order sets.
  • Participates in testing, quality assurance, training, implementation, and live support of beacon applications.
  • Assists in the development and support of other projects related to the chemotherapy ordering systems
  • Assists with data analysis as it relates to the use of chemotherapy regimens, supportive care medications, and specific disease program issues.
  • Assist with clinical trial review, initiation, closure processes, and education.
  • Participates in reviewing clinical and economic outcomes associated with various disease program treatments.
  • Participates in the training of new members of the team.
  • Works closely with EPIC/Beacon team.


  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Clinician (Registered Nurse or Pharmacist) with 3-5 years experience in health care. Oncology experience preferred.
  • Current professional licensure
