Scope of Work:


The ideal candidate will possess prior business development/capture management and proven results within the Federal market, specifically with US Government contracts. Demonstrated ability to seek and understand customer preferences then build and convey compelling value propositions


The candidate must know Government FAR guidelines and have experience with government compliance requirements. Serve as a key member in identifying, shaping, preparing for and responding to procurement opportunities including RFPs, ENs and depending on the procurement scope. Identify, manage and execute the pre-solicitation capture plan as well as the proposal response plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. contracts, legal, HR, etc.). Develop win themes, approaches, technical discriminators, and innovative strategies specific to opportunities. Understand and navigate government contracting vehicles and procedures.


Be a highly self-motivated thought leader with respect to program pursuit, proposal responses, win themes, technical discriminators, solutions providers and pricing.


Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with the business development team to identify, refine, and respond to BD opportunities.
  • Responsible for arranging meetings with clients and building and strengthening relationships.
  • Assist the company in achieving overall situational awareness of the market by maintaining an extensive network of connections.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external personnel, including other business development and capture team members, client executives, proposal managers, corporate infrastructure departments and program management teams to ensure effective, efficient, and integrated implementation of capture strategies.
  • Assists in the development of successful pricing strategies, BOEs, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements.

Minimum Requirements:



  • B.A. and minimum 5 years of experience in Business Development or a minimum of 10 years' experience in Business Development with direct expertise and demonstrated success in BD, sales and marketing.
  • Demonstrated record of winning contracts
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet schedules.
  • Ability to work well in a team in high pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience working with senior management and organization's multiple disciplines (technical, product management, marketing, pricing, contracts).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project.
  • Capable of 50% + travel expectations often with short notice.
  • Experience working on proposals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
