The Impact You'll Make in this Role


The person hired for the position of DRE Commercialization Manager will join a strong team focused on driving the adoption of and business opportunities from 3M methodologies for payment and performance management at the state and federal levels through discontinuous regulatory events (DREs). Based on division-wide input as well as external information, this person will focus on commercialization opportunities related to the DREs, evaluating the need for product development, product enhancements, or service offerings. The person will provide and manage methodology educational support around DRE adoptions, interacting with state agencies, hospitals/hospital associations, and managed care plans/managed care plan associations. This person will help RGA identify potential KOLs and coalition partners, as well as grow our overall 3M HIS reputation as the leader in the healthcare value space. This person must be both a leader and a team player, contributing to the development of our RGA plans and priorities and supporting the contracting responsibilities with each DRE.


As a DRE Commercialization Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:



  • Establish priorities for proprietary and public product development and enhancement, as well as identify service opportunities
  • Direct collaboration with BUs engaging and aligning around growing core methodology revenue and penetration
  • Coordinate and develop (with SI, CER, BUs, Marketing, etc.) the DRE "Story" and messaging for individual DREs to foster sales engagement and support
  • Proactive, deliberate, and "real-time" management of Commercialization for individual DREs per the DRE Implementation schedule
  • Develop public grouper strategy for the division
  • Manage individual PD implementations
  • Contribute to the development of DRE/PD annual and DRE/PD-specific Contract Receipt (CR) goals
  • Provide subject matter expertise via consultation and stakeholder education to support DRE adoption, including 3M HIS methodologies, prospective payment, performance reporting, paying-for-outcomes
  • Use consultation and education opportunities to secure VOC intelligence that will support the DRE commercialization effort
  • Lead monthly, division-wide, DRE Adoption, Implementation, and Commercialization (AIC) meeting to provide a broad update/discussion covering the full DRE process from SI's creation of DRE markets through Division-wide commercialization for the DREs

Your Skills and Expertise


To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of sixteen (16) years of experience in Healthcare Business in lieu of the bachelor's degree education requirement
  • Seven (7) years of working knowledge of major players and stakeholders in payment and delivery system reform initiatives
  • Two (2) years of proprietary and public methodologies

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:



  • Drive product/services identification and development with colleagues across the business division
  • In-depth knowledge of 3M classification and payment systems
  • Experience guiding division-wide work groups to meet a shared priority and goal
  • Discern and prioritize business opportunities
  • Work in a bipartisan fashion with elected officials and staff at the federal, state, and local levels, as well as representatives from the hospital, managed care, and other related sectors
  • Adjust quickly to changing political landscapes and players while maintaining focus on business priorities
  • Contribute to a forward-looking plan in a team focused atmosphere
